Providing Competent, Ethical, and Culturally Informed Supervision in Clinical Neuropsychology

Join us as Dr. Kirk J. Stucky, PsyD, ABPP explores how to provide effective, ethical, and culturally responsive supervision in clinical neuropsychology. This talk will highlight a competency-based approach to fostering trainee growth, integrating cultural and individual diversity into supervisory practice, and addressing key ethical and legal considerations in assessment and training.

Kirk J. Stucky, PsyD, ABPP, is board-certified in clinical neuropsychology and rehabilitation psychology and is currently the chair of the Department of Behavioral Health at Hurley Medical Center (HMC) located in Flint, Michigan. At HMC, he currently serves as the Director of Rehabilitation Psychology and Neuropsychology as well as the Clinical Director of Advanced Neuropsychology and Pediatric Psychology. 

In addition to Dr. Stucky's clinical expertise, he is particularly dedicated to advancing training standards for specialty-level psychologists. He is the current Program Director of the Postdoctoral Fellowship Program, Rehabilitation Psychology at HMC and was recently the Chair of the Ethics Committee at HMC. His educational roles include mentoring and working with postdoctoral psychology fellows, medical students, and resident physicians. He has authored five books and numerous peer-reviewed publications and book chapters on topics related to neurorehabilitation, hospital-based practice, critical care psychology, ethics, and advanced specialty training. He was the 2023 recipient of the APA Services Advocacy Award for his continuous and successful efforts over two decades to advocate for funding for postdoctoral psychology salaries for the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). His expertise through these endeavors will be particularly relevant for the current webinar.
